Anyone know if the new a. robotnick reissue 'Love Robot' the same thing
as his 'Problemes D'Amour' release? A variation on the theme? It seems
discogs is quite misleading on this subject...

Also that first Sound Signature compilation CD is sweet.. great
round-up of the early releases. Ubiquity should do the world a favor
and re-issue that on CD too. I guess I was destined to have it,
because I loaned it to a friend, who had his car broken into and the
stereo and CDs all
speaking of problemes d'amour just noticed that it is playing in the
background in europian vacation. the scene where they are in the strip club
and they find there son getting a lap dance. that song must have been new
when that movie came out.

... just for the record : La Haine dates from 1995, has it just been released
in the US ? and since then Kassovitz has moved to Hollywood (Gothika, with
Halle Berry) ; the banlieue (with an e) is French for suburbs, so you've
got good (posh) suburbs and bad (projects etc) suburbs.

well, I know it ain't techno, so don't shout.
but I just spotted an lp that looked interesting.
it's called Detroit Soul, it's a compilation and features...
Dwele, Ayro, Lovers Quarrel, Detroit Experiment, Amp Fiddler,
Innerzone Orchestra, John Beltran, Blue Eyez, Slum Village, jaylib
I saw that yesterday and very nearly bought it, but decided on a completely
different vibe with Mike Dred's Universal Indicator CD on Rephlex

Check out the link for playlist. Looks good except don't think there's
anything new here from the usual suspects. Would like to hear the others
