Interesting little article on space disco at pitchfork

I have to admit to taking some guilty pleasure in recent Lindstrom
and co tracks: they're always over-the-top, but have the right spirit.
Any other recommendations?
Time for top 10s for 2005? A good year in music; solid, anyhow,
without perhaps any major developments.
Mine are (in vague order):
1. How Sweed it is / Roberta Sweed / Mahogani Music
2. Isolee / We Are Monster / Playhouse
3. i:cube / Chicago Sur Seine ep / Versatile
4. Domu / Discotech ep /
A very good article on the Europe vs America thing in
the last issue of the New York Review of Books.

I'm going to be in Berlin from August 20 to 30. So it's the usual request
for any nights I should make it to, and good record stores I should visit
(Hardwax obviously, but I don't know any others). Replies will be much
appreciated.

AC/DC have just got ACDC Lane named after them in Melbourne (no
forward-slash, because that's against council regulations)

Not too
The Unabombers are playing in Melbourne on Friday night. Can anyone tell me
anything about them? The only thing I know about them is that they're from
Manchester, and they charted the Moxie edit of Talking Heads at the top of
their 5. Should I go see them?

I noticed an album of Carl Craig remixes
(http://www.juno.co.uk/IP/IF148255-01.htm) that I wondered whether were
bootlegged.
Tracklisting: Aquarhythms - Body Jazz Body Fusion (Carl Craig's Straight
mix), Yennek - Serena X (Innerzone mix), La Funk Mob - Ravers Suck Our Sound
(Carl Craig remix),
Moxie edits 3

I don't know much about the label, but they've put out some of the better
disco reedits of late. Up to number 5.

I hear a rumour that Theo will be playing (again) at
Honkytonks on Saturday night: can anyone in Melbourne
confirm this?

Looking foward to 6 hours of Theo tonight (does he
really play for that long?)

My faves for the year:
1. Kaidi Tatham Dego: Got Me Puzzled
2. Moonstarr: The Dupont and Christie EP
3. Detroit Beatdown Remixes (esp Gilb-r remix)
4. Pepe Bradock rework of Angola
5. John Arnold: Get Yourself Together
6. Natural Aspirations: Timeisalafinacharunninout
7. Putsch 79: Glowing Cat
Could it be the Cobblestone Jazz ep? Really excellent ep that come out
I think last year; a couple of Canadian guys that sound like they're
doing a live, improvised thing. Reminds me a little of the first
Mahogani ep: really deep bassline, very nice keys.

After a number of listens to every dog... I want to agree with others on the
list who have suggested it's a masterpiece. To me it's a new direction for
Mills: he combines the floorfriendly momentum of the purposemaker releases with
the abstract sounds of his axis stuff to produces a housesound
