I have a white label of his wrok that stays permanently stored on my
turntable...dope house... kinda alton miller-ish, kinda Norm Talley-ish...He
released some records on his own label...i want to say phantom records but i
could be wrong. As far as his dj skills go, he's tight...i played
how did the producers in the early days do their recordings??? with a 4
track or straight to 1/4 inch?
What kind of effects did they use?.. i'd love to be able to attempt to
recreate some of that feel.

I'm sitting here scrolling through my mailbox today, deleteing all of
the e-mails that even sound like flames, and chuckling to myself. How could
anyone think that hardcore, trance, jungle, or whatever made up genre you
decide to pull out of generation ecstacy, is progressive.
I
merlouche ideal isn't cheesy at all, if you use it right... it goes great
with groove la chord... and following a hard techno track with it creates a
beatiful build... my favorite sequence: the alarms- merlouche
ideal-groove la chord- archetype

last time i checked techno-trance or whatever reynolds-ism they're using for
it today, is definately not detroit techno...

Most of techno is trance-based music
mebbe trance is just techno based music... seeing as how techno came about a
decade before trance was anything more than a hypnotic state

what's up,
I wanted to invite everyone from the list to come hear me spin at Foran's
this wednesday. The conversation and massive amounts of knowledge dropped
on this list have been a huge influence on me as a Dj. It would be an honor
if some list members came out to support me for
I know one of them is dr. blowfin's experiment... only god knows how long
i've been trying to track down a copy of that track.

hypervinyl, it's on the main drag (forbes) in oakland, right on the pitt
campus. the people are super cool, ask for Jwan, technically he works across
the hall at the hip hop shop but he knows his shit. in fact i think he's a
313 subscriber.
