records - subdivision?
HI all,
If my memory serves me right, the Soma sub-label should be call
It's defintely a Soma offshoot- run by my next door neighbour Paul
Cawley. There was another Soma offshoot several years ago run by Muzik
journalist Tim Barr called Fifth Freedom- several EPs with tracks by
Paul Hunter, Russ Gabriel, Move D and others.

I have a whitelabel on Fenetik by Daniel Ibbotson. It features three diverse
tracks - a moody electro-ish song with female vocals, a housey downbeat
track and a John Tejada remix of this track on the b-side. It isnt a bad
record if you can hunt it down, especially for the female vox track.

I think you're talking about Fenetik. Their website is at
http://www.somarecords.com/fenetik/ - but it's still under construction at
the moment so there's more info at http://www.discogs.com/label/Fenetik
There were also two Fenetik compilations on Soma itself:
http://www.discogs.com/release/10474
Is anyone aware of a sub-label of Soma Quality Recordings that released
downtempo/breakbeat type records around 1997?
I just found one at my local shop but don't remember the name of the
artist(s) on it or the name of the label. It was a 2x12" of some downtempo,
sort of breakbeat/trip-hop type
