I was under the impression that Alexander Robotnicks Problemes D'Amour was
the first official music release utilizing the 303. Granted its a subdued 303
more along the lines of Adonis' No Way Back rather than Pierre's Acid Tracks

I always thought it was Spanky and Pierre but nope, it was a UK
isn't it possible that it was discovered independently by several
different people? Marshall Jefferson has told the story of finding and
liking the classic 303 sound before he knew anyone else was doing the same
thing.

Quando Quango's Love Tempo (also on Factory) also uses the 303 in a acid housey
way. but i wouldn't consider it acid.
