try the album BGM for songs like 'camouflage' and 'mass'...ymo are
brilliant, a lot of their stuff is dated sounding now tho...altho you get
used to tuning out the painful parts when you listen to a lot of old cheesy
music ;) but some is still pretty fresh sounding (like a lot of this album
BGM
yes sir, cheesy it is. :)
try ryuchi sakamoto - riot in lagos

i had heard _of_ YMO but never actually heard any of there stuff so i
downloaded a fe
Just to reiterate, I strongly suggest checking Hosono's SFX and Philharmony
as well as Technodelic and Technodon - the lattter is quite a brilliant
record and largely overlooked except by the most rabid fans...perhaps
because it's quite hard to find.

well, of course, 'least favourite' still means
that i like it very much as i'm definitely a ymo
fan. and i also like their 'cheesy' stuff, 'rydeen'
on 'solid state survivor' is my favourite ymo track,
btw some of sss (e.g. rydeen) is on the us / euro
pressing of x infinity multiplies
it's just that
ah nah, the self titled one is my favourite.
yes, it's cheesy, but that's also why i like
hotbutter's 'popcorn', he he.
along the lines of the first album is also Ryuichi Sakamoto's first solo lp
"thousand knives"
"solid state survivor" is also a great one.pretty much a follow up.
Ryuichi Sakamo

Yeah.!. but whattabout the YMO vs. The Orb "Tong Poo Remixes" twelve?
I acquired a copy some years ago and it remains sealed and never heard...
Would this be something to cling to or toss?
n.p.: Akko Yano "Tadaima"
J. E. v. F-B. B.

I guess this is as good a time as any to ask:
Has ANYONE found the original Soft Ballet (Hosono) release that the
softballetforms tracks are remixing? I love Carl's treatmen
I'd also say their first two LP's.
Besides that, I highly recommend Ryuichi Sakamoto's
"B-2 Unit" from (1980). Quite experimental and way
ahead of its time. It also features the fantastic
electro dub track "riot in lagos". (Check Ken Ishii
Mix -Up CD). it's worth to look for it!!!
