These are some good ideas. There are samplings and pieces of this sort of
info scattered about on the web currently... Submerge's site and Kevin
Saunderson's site at kmsproductions.com come to mind. Interestingly, I
visited Submerge's web site several days ago and noticed that they are
working
I am currently working on a world techno site with a large Detroit section
that I hope to have ready to go live in a couple of months. I'm currently
compiling bios and full (or as full as I can manage) discographies on the
the main players from Detroit, the US and across Europe and will include
for
example. But Detroittechno.com has an extremely commercially viable name.
That's not commercial as in selling or selling out as so many people
here seem to like to talk about, it's commercial in the sense of being a
potentially major traffic area to many interested parties. And that's in my
I'll solve the mystery. A cat I knew a while back purchased
Detroittechno.com. He does in fact also own Detroittechno.org. He's a web
designer and plays around on a bit of gear, although to my knowledge he's
never completed a track. Just turns knobs in his free time. Originally he
was going
Exactly, i have to agree. I mean, cool looking web pages are, well, cool
looking, and its what all the companies want right now. If you want cool
looking web sites, there are lots of places to go for that. However, I'm
of the mindset of disabling flash, shock, java, ect in my browser, since I
By the way, dutchtechno.com is still available
amsterdamtechno.com is also 4 grabs
and i believe moby.nl is also free
so weeehoooh somanychoices.

I think you're right. My wife has a hoodie sweatshirt
that she got from Motor and on the hood it says
detroittechno.com, and I remember going to the website
before. Now the site just has a barebones index for
the frontpage. Who knows, maybe Ford shelled out some
money for the URL.

I can say with almost absolute certainty that Motor Detroit does not
own, nor has ever owned, any of the www.detroittechno.whatever
domains... at least directly.
Back to my hole I crawl.

Whoever has bought these domain names is more than likely practicing what
is
known as domain name squatting. Basically, they purchased the domain
name
in hopes of reselling it later to someone else that wants it bad enough to
pay them a sizeable profit
its just a name...its about the visitors..
i´d even visit moby.com if it was any good.

Does anyone know what is up with the people who bought detroittechno.com
detroittechno.net, and detroittechno.org? (all three are owned by the
same people i think). Like what do they plan on putting on there?

This is purely speculation, but some time ago there was a green flash
animation that played on the website of a small circle getting larger and
when it filled the screen a bass thump sounded... I had written an email to
the detroittechno.com domain and for some reason I am thinking that Motor
