Apologies to all - and especially M-Audio - about info in my
last e-mail about single-computer all-Windows systems.
The audio cards with balanced I/O that didn't work with Xeon
processors were Echo Audio cards, NOT M-Audio.
Problem caused by working on too many projects simultaneously!

Hi all,
I was wondering if there was a place or site where I could gather information
about real applications Access Grid has been used successfully. I must give an
important lecture tomorrow and I would like to show the attendants a few
examples of Access Grid success.

I've been working on building the AGtk 2.2 on Fedora Core 2.

Yes over the next few days, they will start living on the program pages,
now labeled program/proceedings. We will eventually product a CD and mail
this out to attendees.

Since Windows PIGs work okay, I assume a multi-machine all-Windows AG
node configuration (as opposed to Windows for display and Linux for
capture) works okay, but can anyone confirm that they're actually
using such a setup? Are there any problems with multiple Hauppague
video capture cards under W
Hi Randy,
This may or may not help. I was able to get 2.2 running on my laptop and
connect to a 2.1.2 venue server fine. The one trick I needed to do was
to remove the AccessGrid folder in the C:\Documents and
Settings\bcorrie\Application Data\
Having this folder with 2.1.2 stuff in it seemed

I realize that this iteration changed a lot of the underlying code, so I'm
guessing that it's going to take a while for things to settle down.
I have been attempting, on a laptop, and on my home machine, to get a test
situation running, so I can at least see what the new features are. After

Just wondering when these might be available. My descriptions of the

like to be able to show it off soon.

became available. Is
I've run into a problem with this new method of installing the video and
audio executables and interactions with personal firewalls (Zone Alarm in
this case, but it probably will be a problem with Black Ice, etc.). One of
the ways that the firewall protects is to determine whether it is OK to
Hello,
I have a RH9 video machine and the rest of the node is XP. XP won't stop
combining all the video cards into one entry called Microsoft video capture
device so the video machine was built with linux. 2.1.2 works flawlessly in
this setup. All the VIC's are comming up like they are suppo
Great job, everyone!
I don't know, but I think that this was the best one yet.
If nothing more than getting the ANL folks away from their home turf ... ;-)
Definitely liked the Showcase - hope to see many more examples here next time!
Thanks again!!

Has anyone made progress on installing AGtk 2.2 on Fedora 2?
I'm getting this:

wxPythonGTK-py2.2 is needed by AccessGrid-2.2-6
xawtv is needed by AccessGrid-2.2-6
libcrypto.so.2 is needed by AccessGrid-2.2-6

The bulk of the tools is written in Python, using the C-based Globus
toolkit via a python binding called pyGlobus. It also uses the C-based
OpenSSL library via the pyOpenSSL binding.
The media tools (vic and rat) are written in a mixture of C, C++, and Tcl.

I want to add my thanks as well. It was a great
retreat - enough time to connect to people that I
have worked with or will work with as well as
meeting new folks. The showcase especially generated
all kinds of ideas for new projects, or AG connections
to on-going projects at home.

We use standard X509 certificates, as generated by either OpenSSL or the

Many thanks I'll try that now

Does anyone know what language(s?) that Access Grid is written in?
I'll add my kudos here too -- the retreat was terrific. The sessions
were well-selected and informative, and the social time very important
too. I'm looking forward to next year at Berkeley!
