I think as Rohit has suggested it is a problem of a splitter which seperates
the telephone line from the broadband connection.
I think there is no such excuse which the BSNl linemen are giving you where
the problem cannot be solved.
As regarding filters I think Geeta meant splitter

It could be wire problem-fault in the wires.
It may give u some respite I am going through the problem concurrent with but a
minor variation that my airtel broad band does not disconnect during a
telephone call but 15 minutes after connection & the problem recurs. Airtel is
