initially, we have to create images of hot copy pages by taking photos
from mobile or scanning in PC and save as .gif files. then we can load
such gifs or convert into image PDFs by uploading into google drive
and choose the option open in google docs and it will do OCR. this is
the way, tamil book

Google OCR is considered the best for indian languages which we can
try through our Gmail accounts online.

With reference to your query, you may want to try Kibo application
which is available on Android or you may use it as Crome extention on
Windows computer for Indian languages.
You may take a picture on your mobile or on computer and convert it
and save it in appropriate format including word doc.

The Tesseract is a good OCR for Indian languages. I have personally
tested Kannada and it does a decent job. The accuracy is very
satisfactory. One of my friends has converted a relatively old kannada
book with 90-95% accuracy. I have not tested any other languages. It
is available both for Wi

I have many Kannada PDF books which are image PDFs and I badly want to
convert them into an accessible format.

Firstly, how do I convert a JPEG from mobile to GIF?
Next, none of these OCR's help me to read on mobile if I have
