Hi I have this laptop (acer ferrari) and as of today with ati fglrx driver (8.24.8) the laptop suspends correctly to ram in kubuntu dapper amd64. There are strange things with the coming back (screen garbage and the desktop is shown before the locking screen) but it's much better than before.
