Have you set the homeDrive
attribute? If this is not set the path for homeDirectory should be local
(e.g. C:\homedir).

The import works but when I look a the home directory field for the user in AD
U&C it does not show the variable as being resolved to
You may also want to try repadmin /showreps. If replication is not working
it will tell you the number of times it has failed and when the last success
was. If replication is working then it wont do you any good. An example of
the output of broken replication is below
