IIRC, assigning to a user doesn't actually install it until
the application is launched for the first time. I'd have to check that for sure,
though. It should create any shortcuts at the outset
however.

Yup - you need to get in the habit of specifying UNC paths rather than
mapped drives for all GPO deployed software.

Nope. The contents of public folders are not exposed via
LDAP (which makes sense when you think about it).
You can. however, use something like CDONTS or some of the
other MAPI programatic interfaces to enumerate the contents of the
PF.

Hmm.. that's interesting Roger. It does seem to work
perfectly as I had mentioned in a test environment, withexactly the same
settings.
The only differences between environmentsare obvious
ones, server names, usernames, security groups, production workstations are
mixed 2000/XP machines.
The GC per DC question came up in one of the sessions I
attended (with the Whidby team) and it strikes me that there is a common
misconception even within Redmond that "All GC's are Created Equally" - which I
think we've seen is NOT the case. Not sure they got the point, however. They

Yeah I kinda figured that :-)
I figured the best way to do a bulk import from fields
exported from Outlook was to format the fields using CSVDE syntax and import
from that. That worked perfectly, now all I have to figure out is what the

Roger or Tony - did you guys happen to scoop up my camera from our table

had some really cool pictures on it and I'm sad that I forgot it.

Have you tried assigning it to machines instead of users?
Does that change the behavior at all?

I sure didn't. Might want to talk with the leads to see if

Dont worry. They are just

What is a recommended logon

Example:

If you aren't adverse to command line tools, check out memberof on the free

Guido's response is the first thing I thought of as well.
I don't think AD is a proper place for that info for a couple of reasons

2. If someone dumps your AD, they get all of the photos too, how many people

With all due respect to those that absolutely think that FRS v1 is hot, I'm
quite pleased that there has been this level of success with it.
However, even Microsoft admits that FRS iswell, broken. It gets better
with each QFE, Service Pack and HotFix, but the basics are just flat broken.
