Is there a way to tell if a user account has been deleted?

Does anyone have a good utility that they use to monitor
network traffic? We have a possible comprised computer throwing out malicious
traffic on our network and we want to pinpoint the cause. Any suggestions would
be very much appreciated.

What is the process of adding in a Windows Server 2003 DC
into an existing Windows 2000 AD? Do we have to run the 2003 Server CD on the
2000 domain controllers and run the adprep and forest prep? Thanks for any
help.
