The GUIDs returned in this scenario are not used by the directory in the
traditional manner and, as such, using a GUID-based binding string won't

I recently had to do this and got it accomplished with the following syntax
(with a little help from joe :) ):
adfind -default -binenc -f
objectGUID={{GUID:

These are DSA invocation IDs (which are maintained for the directory's
lifetime) within the up-to-dateness vector table, the stale (irresolvable)
entries are normal (assuming they truly represent demoted or forcibly
removed DCs) and are typically of no concern. The "retired" notation refers
to DCs
