I have been watching with interest a female blackbird that comes down to the
gutter on our conservatory to find nesting materials. What I found
particularly interesting was that although it was only the female that
collected the materials, the male seemed to stand guard. He would appear

chased the crows from their perches on the cliff face and chased them round
the sky.
