As I understand it, the server to server stuff is handled on the destination
server at a volume level. Thus this data will not be freed on the
destination server until the whole "sequential volume" of whatever size you
specied is free.
Try setting appropriate reclaim values on the storag

Hi all,
Currently running TSM 3.7.3 on OS/390 with a TSM client at 3.1.0.7 on NT.
Client size is 450 mhz / 512mb of memory.
We are backing up a Network Appliance 730 box. The volume that we are
inspecting has had the full backup run, but when we run the incremental we

Hi Steve,
I think that the 'set to private' process is working, but it
appears that it is only applied to tape vols that have an error
when reading the label and not when a 'media fault' occurs.
Please see the following:

I thought there was a ptf somewhere along the way that addressed this
problem. I thought it's supposed to set the volume to private so that it
doesn't attempt to mount the same scratch tape again. I think Richard
already suggested upgrading software. What level are you running?

Thank you Richard,
I'll start looking into these possible causes for the problem.
And I guess I'll also have to come up with a way to monitor for this
problem outside of TSM and the 3494.
Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions.

Hi
I have a question. I backup informix database 7.24 UC3 on SAP R/3 using TSM
3.7 using onbar -b -w -L 0. It shows me total backed up database as 172 GB
whereas my Informix utility using sapdba shows 190 GB (excluding tmpdbs),
can some one tell me why is the difference ?

Today my server crashed when finishing off a successful
export-node-operation.
Server is 3.7.3.1 running on AIX 4.3.1.0.
Back in som early adsm-server there was a problem writing the
volume-history-information if the export node-command was too long (more
than 256 characters?)
This was fixed, an
