What do you think about the following errors below in the offline db
backup log? Is it successful or unsuccessful?
What could cause this problem?
At the firt attempt the backup is unsuccessful and the 2nd retry semms
ok.

I'm not using disk primary stgpool, the backups are goes directly to
tape in 3494 tape library with 3 drives. The error logs aren't contain
any error messages regarding to these errors.

Has anyone else had problems with a 3995 jukebox after upgrading from AIX 4.2.1
to AIX 4.3.3? We recently migrated to 4.3.3 and now get data integrity errors
reported in the TSM system log when we try to read data stored on disks in the
3995. Could it be a device driver problem?

After upgrading from AIX 4.2.1 to 4.3.3 we are getting lots of data
integrity errors in the TSM sysem log when trying to read data stored on
optical disks in a 3995 optical jukebox. Has anyone else seen something
similar?
We did the same upgrade from 4.2.1 to 4.3.3 ML06 and had no problems with
3995 C62 and C64. But we deleted ALL Libraries/drives and recreated them
after the upgrade.
btw we are running Atape 6.1.9.0.

have a single directory that you want to back up every day whether the data
changes or not, and keep copies of those file for a different period of time
than the other files on that system?

class with a backup copygroup with MODE=ABSOLUTE. Then add an INCLUDE
statement to your options file to assign files in the folder to the new

I have a problem with a volume in my 3494-library..
Tsm-server is 4.2.1.7, AIX.
I discovered the problem a few days ago, when trying to move data from the
volume to another stg-pool.
Tsm incists that the volume is inaccessible.
An audit also result in the same:

ORA052 acc=readwrite (or acc=readonly if you don't want any more data

backing up our Sun machines with TSM. We also back up the / root
/ usr /opt filespaces to a Dat tape separate from TSM. This is for DRM. I have heard

We are experiencing a similar problem here on SOME of our NT servers. Our
solution was similar to yours. We are scheduling a reboot to work around a
memory leak. To insure that the scheduling service starts we use AT to do:
NET STOP 'TSM CENTRAL SCHEDULER'

You should have in your server directory a file "ibmtsm.mac". This is
coded for the tivoli event handler, but can easily be chnaged for whatever
event handler you wish to use.

Starting about 2 months ago, I've been unable to use Explorer for downloads
from the Tivoli website. I get a pop-up window (with Microsoft-type
graphics) that says: Either the server does not allow anonymous logins, or
the email address was not accepted. The FTP server here is
service.boulder.ibm.
After clicking on the "Change" button, did you scroll down the list of
components? The ODBC driver should be at or near the bottom of the
component list.

ie slots 16 to 27.
I cannot use tapeutil to move a tape from within the library out to the
bulk i/o and checkout operations from within TSM
