TSM Verson 5.1.0 is the server level.
Taking the server up to say 5.1.6 may well fix it Richard. Unfortunately, we

John,
Server to server will only move data over the wan, there is no lanfree option at this
time.
If you are only using second site for backup then there is no need for TSM2 at all.
Just define your second site library and drives with an new device class and stgpools
on TSM1
Start a backup stg
Here is our current setup. We have 2 TSM systems. TSM1 which is where all
the TSM clients backup to at night. TSM2 is offsite and only used for
keeping a second copy of the TSM1 data using the "BACKUP STGPOOL" command.

Alex,
You'd create a new management class w/ copygroup destination=new diskpool.
You use include statements on the client to bind your files to that
mgmtclass.
If you want to ensure nobody binds files to the same management class
without you knowing, you could try creating another domain and movi
Hi,
TSM 5.1.6.5 on win2K server, 1 X overland Neo 4100 with 2 X LTO-2 drives
and 60 tape slots.
We may soon acquire a new client machine which will produce data sets of
200GB average, and that client will have RAID capacity to hold up to
3.7TB (18 data sets). But we also need to backup the client
Do you want a command to see what was backuped in the last 24 hours? You might try:
select summary.entity as "NODE NAME", nodes.domain_name as "DOMAIN",
nodes.platform_name as "PLATFORM", \
cast((cast(sum(summary.bytes) as float) / 1024 / 1024) as decimal(10,2)) as MBYTES , \

Hi Janeth !
You can use a different user for the TSM client scheduler as long as
your user has the following rights:
.
- Back up files and directories
- Restore files and directories
- Manage auditing and security logs
.
You can use 3 different tools :
.
1) You can use the setup wizard in the B/A c
Is there a particular reason why you want to start the TSM server service with a user
other than System? (There is normally no user called 'root' in Windows.)

If the tapes are checked in with TSM already, you will not need to run a
checkin.
You do need to perform an audit library and this should update your
inventory with TSM.
