Do any one have any idea if the SL500 is supported by TSM 5.2.6 since it is
released after the doc?

Hi,
Would it be possible to give some comments on next please ?
Because we are requesting some more diskspace (500 GB) for TSM on our

our management is wondering why we do not run TSM on AIX where diskspace
is much cheaper.
I agree with them that diskspace is cheaper on AIX, but I
Hello Everyone,
I have been having issues where our Fujitsu servers, which archive Oracle

Hi All
I recently when to our off-site location where our Copypool DR volumes are
housed to make sure that all the tapes I thought should be there actually
were. That part of the mission was a success and all tapes were present.
However, I also came across a whole bunch of tapes that weren't on
Hi,
Looks like 2 clusters failover again and again. Maybe consult your

Farren,
I've seen this happen before when the TSM DB tapes get out of sync with
DRM. Basically, what we do, is once a quarter we perform an audit. We get
a list from the offsite vendor and compare it to the output from q drm.
Any tapes that are on the offsite vendor's list and not on the q drm
Hi,
Actually those 2 servers aren't clustered. Please ignore any messages for

and that was just a small portion of the error messages I am receiving on
them. Sorry for the confusion! Any other ideas as to what is
Thanks for that Sean
That's kind of what I expected and our DB volumes expire after five days so
this should be OK. But I think I will keep a close eye on the DB volume
numbers from now on and see if they do end up coming back or not.
Many thanks

Hi Everyone,
We may need to put a couple of tape libraries into sites where floor space
is very tight. The libraries would probably need around 300-400 tapes and
6-8 drives, with
room to expand to possibly double or more in size. I went browsing for
libraries that
pack lots of tapes and drives
I am also a mainframer, having spent MANY years doing mainframe storage
management/performance management/capacity planning.
And I LOVE running TSM on AIX.
I never would have believed it until I implemented it myself, but AIX
can push I/O AMAZINGLY fast, it is a terrific TSM platform.
