Hi chaps,
I am busy testing the single mailbox restore for Exchange 2010 without much
luck. Is there an additional licence I require for this.?

Hi Jerome,
You do not need an extra license. But I do recommend installing
a newer version of Data Protection for Exchange. For example...
version 6.4.1:
ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/storage/tivoli-storage-management/maintenance/tivoli-data-protection/ntexch/v641/windows/
or
version 7.1.0.1:
We recently had our offsite/recover TSM server (RH Linux 6.4, TSM
6.3.4.200) go south. Something happened that caused DB2 to start
crashing/dumping and subsequently completely filled the filesystem
containing /home/tsminst1 directory. Since this was the root folder, the
system tanked and is now
Zoltan,
We are all eager to know if the something that happened had anything to do with
TSM 6.3.2 or DB2. Since they seem to be fine and the OS needs to be rebuilt,
presumably not. Sometimes i's and t's beg to dotted and crosed.
Best wishes,

As soon as I know more, I will post here. My OS guy (offsite with the box)
just reported/confirmed the root filesystem is a loss and will have to
rebuild/reinstall. He is running Dell hardware diagnostics right now.
Going back through what logs/reports I have available, I found that there
was
Would like to know if anyone has solved the conundrum of TSM VE and customers
who want monthly fulls in the vault for a year or more.
Now I know that's a bad idea, and it doesn't play well with TSM
incremental-forever. But still there are customers who insist, or have
managers with
By all means use one of the later versions, they work better. And open a
Tivoli ticket if it still doesn't work.
But just in case this helps you in the short term
:
I have 2 customers that cannot reliably do mailbox restores for Exchange, one
at TDP 6.4 with 2010, and one at TDP 7.1 with 2013.
Hi Wanda,
In case you didn't know... the Data Protection for Exchange
Mailbox Restore Browser gives you the option to leave the
recovery database around for future restores,
so you don't need to restore it each time.
Data Protection for Exchange detects if there is an existing
recovery database.
Del,
At what version/release did the the Data Protection for Exchange Mailbox
Restore Browser start giving you the option to keep the recovery database?

Currently we are backing up daily, DB2 using TSM 6 DB2 API client LAN-Free to
our TM 6 server/Virtual tape library.
Once a week I need to do a DB2 backup with a different retention. I am looking
for options to this solution.
Here are some I have come up with, I am looking for other options.

Thanks Del!
I'll pass that along to my customers.
