Backupsets vs. copy storage pools

I am in the process of defining an offsite tape library to my TSM 4.1 for OS/390 server. I have a simple question as to whether I should use BACKUPSETs or copy storage pools for my creating my offsite data. I do not have the DRM module but the data at the remote site will be for DR purposes. Any

Ruud, I did not see a much impact from the TSM server side trace. I did see a tremendous throughput impact from the client side trace running on a NT node. I found the documentation at the following locations; TSM server: http://www.tivoli.com/support/storage_mgt/adsm/pubs/v3pubs/aix/html/adsmtrf

TSM 4.1 for OS/390 DB size

Hello all, I have TSM 4.1 for OS/390. I have allocated 3000 cylinders, roughly a volume, for the TSM database and currently I am at 90% utilization with a few large client nodes left to get the initial backup. I am considering using BMC's Data Accelerator/Compression or would it be better to just

Hello All, I am currently in the process of moving all of my clients to a TSM 4.1 for OS/390 server. However, randomly the processing fails as the device, in this case 0840, fails to remain in the A-BSY state. This is the link between the mainframe and the Cisco CIP card. The session begin to fail

I am in the process of replacing my ADSM 3.1.24 on AIX with TSM 4.1 on OS/390. I have the system up an running on the test LPAR and it is working quite well. However when we put TSM in the production LPAR and attempted to do some backups and restores we found the transfer rate had dropped tenfold.

Database sizing question

I am in the process of moving from ADSM on an AIX system to TSM on OS/390 (I know, I know). In calculating the database size in accordance with TSM Implementation Guide (Redbook) for 40 servers with approximately 3.4 million files with a 60 day retention requirement I get a db size of ~128 GB. Thi
