Actually, if you search the archives of this list, you'll find discussions

Since we are just now implementing our first Netbackup master server, we
have some experience using both (we have approx 15 production TSM

AIX is your problem. EMC support for 3590s on connectrix is on Sun (with
VERY specific hardware). The ed5000s do not support fc-al so with FC tape
devices that do not support fabric login, you're outta luck. The REAL
question is: why are you using connectrix? If it's because you have EMC

Tim,
We've been through a few iterations of evaluations of these products. We
recently added Netbackup along with TSM as our supported software
platforms. We run on HP, Sun, Win2K and IBM platforms, use EMC and HDS
disk arrays, EMC switches (okay - McData) and use 3590B/E, 9480 and LTO

I agree with Wanda. I would add that we netboot/customize when we have a
complete failure on the rootvg. The mksysb's are made weekly and stored on
node pairs (in addition to being backed up to ADSM). In this manner we can
get the rootvg rebuilt without going to tape, and then get picky about w

IF 9st is actually in /dev/rmt (your output only showed up to 2st..) then

Since the listserv did not allow the attachment, I did the simple user

For those who like visual data, the use of gdChart is quite helpful. We
nightly ncftp our accouting files (and then filter to 100 days) and the
data is available via a simple HTML form based query. Three Perl scripts
do the actual charting (based on intervals and such). It's very useful.

Lu Ann,
Backtrack uses the ADSM API and therefore using the BA GUI will yield
nothing. You can compile and use the sample API program included with the
client and use that as a text interface to view objects, or, you can use
the show versions command from the server admin interface.

Andrew,

Becky,
Is the second server running?
Are you invoking dsmadmc with the -se parameter set to the secondary
server?
It appears the port assignments are different in dsm.sys. Are they
different in dsmserv.opt?
Just make sure that your environment is set for the second server...check

I would tread very lightly at "sharing drives", but not sharing libraries.
Documentation on partitioning library cats, tapes and drives using
3494/3590 setups should be followed as in the red books. However, don't
believe you'll be all fine and dandy sharing drives.
