than (or equal to) "x" as specified
in the "db2adutl delete" command. You also need to "backup database ? use
TSM" more frequently than the Retain Version value.

Perhaps it's a timing issue. For DB2 you have to issue "db2adutl delete
older than x days without prompting" otherwise DB2 will keep backups
forever. In TSM you run "expire inventory". Both are necessary to remove
all pieces of the db2 backup. Perhaps for this database you run the DB2
command
he oldest inuse volume?
I tried querying the volume table for LAST_WRITE_DATE and sorting ascending
on this column, the first record is the oldest tape. Do I then find this
volumes entries in volhist to find its current creation date (STGNEW)?

Note: Someone else suggested using brbackup. Brbackup is the SAP on Oracle
backup tool. It doesn't exist on SAP on DB2 (although brarchive does). The
SAP/DB2 supported backup method IS DB13 which eventually calls "db2 backup
...".
Good luck!

Univers
you may simply need more tapes
(or review management policies and keep fewer copies).

er, expect
problems such as you are experiencing. The solution is to run TDP-R3
serially.

We don't run the Admin Assistant, mainly because we have no NT boxes behind
our firewall.
Have you checked out known problems per release yet?

the volume won't go
pending, I.E. "q v xx" returns pct util = 0.0 status=Filling.
Any ideas on how to get this volume back into the fold?

one logical
volume, which may span hard disks but is only in one volume group, so it
should be possible to generate a list of database files with volume group as
the BACKINT SORTFILE.
Anybody done this?
Does it help much with backup times?

arameter of the 3590 devclass to 4. But when we try
to use all 4 drives simultaneously we get ANR8447E
"No drives are currently available in library " and mounts
fail after the first two mounts.
Somewhere I've missed configuration to allow 4 drives to be used
simultaneously. Any id
