We were advised the best option for TSM and disaster recovery at a cold site is
to use Fastback.
We have about 6 physical and 12 VMware Windows guests to restore from tape.

Whoa. I left a big detail out. This is a restore to a temporary Exchange
server to recover a lost inbox.
I copied a big file between the TSM server and target. It went quickly,
so I don't think it is a network / NIC issue.

I stopped using the TSM Oracle Agent...very complicated...and am just doing full
exports to a file server. TSM then backs up the export.
Mgmt. says, Hey, you're not getting the full benefit of a backup with redo logs, etc.

I test backing up and restoring NT folders that are shared.
The restore brought the folders and data back just fine. However, the shares

Client has TSM version 4.2.0.0 on Win2k.
Server is same version on NT.
The client PC keeps trying to launch VPN to get to the TSM server when the
