I've had experience with TSM together with Legato and Backup Exec. In both
cases TSM always backed up every file after a Legato or Backup Exec backup.
I expect you'll see the same behavior after a Netbackup backup.

I just used export/import to move a server from AIX to W2K. I did not get
the storage pools , but that may be because I did not have the device
classes named the same. I also did not get the scripts. But all other
definitions came across.

Use define volume to assign the volumes to the tape and copy pools. Then
check in the tapes as private. Also set these particular tape and copy pools
to MAXSCRatch=0.

My IBM rep was the first person I contacted. However, since TSM 3.7 is no
longer an availabel product, my rep has not been able to help, as of yet.
I have the license but not the media. The AIX CD is the only one we cannot
find.

It is correct that the user exit does not get the currently active log. I'm
not sure that backing up the currently active log is useful. It may be in an
inconsistent state. This will result in the ROLLFORWARD DATABASE failing.

The logs are not picked up by the backup. The method of handling the logs, is
to compile C language the user exit program provided by DB2 to archive (not
backup) the log files.

What you want to do is called cloning. You can get instructions on how to do this at
http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/rs6k/techbrowse/. Once there click on your OS
level, type the word clone in filter
selected categories and click on the filter button. For example for AIX 4.2 and 4.
One cause can be that the copypool maxscratch limit has been reached. The
maxscratch sets the maximum number of scratch volume that can be used by the
stroage pool.
