Hi Everyone,
We will soon be implementing Exchange 2010 servers and I was wondering if there
are any redbooks or manuals that go through the new backup method for this OS?
I currently use TDP for Mail for my Exchange 2007 servers, but I have been told
that it has changed with Exchange 2010.

Hello,
Can anyone give me insight as to what products TSM has in conjunction with
backing up Exchange 2007 with TSM? We have migrated off of groupwise and now
have implemented Exchange. My concern with using the windows Baclient that we
normally use with TSM will not back up exchange they way I
I was asked to send a summary of responses that I got for the below
question. It has been a week, and I can report that I received no
responses other than the one from Del Hoobler, who posted to the
list. ..Paul

Hi Paul,
Actually... Data Protection for Exchange support for
Exchange Server 2007 is not as far off as you think. :-)
In fact... we just RTM'ed the support last week.
I "expect" that Data Protection for Exchange version "5.4.1"

We find ourselves in a position where we have to backup an MS
Exchange 2007 server for a small group of folks here. We know that
TSM supports Exchange 2003, but 2007 support is a ways off. I am

Hi,
I'm getting "ANS1309W (RC9) requested data is offline" when trying to backup
the IS on excahnge 5.5, using TDP for Exchange 2.2. The DS backs up no
problem. I've previously had media problems with the Server 4.1.2 on SUN,
so have had to manually move exchange LOGS in order to keep the server

Are there any issues, problems or tricks backing up Exchange servers with
TSM? We're offering TSM backup to a department with an Exchange server and
they want to know. TIA.

Is anybody backing up Exchange 2000 successfully with TSM (running on a
W2K platform) when Exchange 2000 is in a active/active cluster? And
have you had any errors scheduling it or more specifically have you seen
the error "The Computer is out of Memory" when backing the information

Thanks for the feedback. This response along with other research
that I've done confirms the fact. That if we do go with a VERITAS to TSM
interface method of backing up exchange servers we run a high risk of not
being able to restore.

We are going to start backing up our MS exchange servers. I would
prefer to use the TDP for M/S exchange. Our exchange & NT people would
prefer Veritas because it does mailbox or brick level backups. They would
use the VERITAS to TSM interface to store the backups on our TSM server. Is
