Bill,
Did you ever get this resoved? I'm guessing that the tape you're trying to do
move data on has a file split across tapes and you don't have one of those
tapes onsite. So it goes to the primary pool instead to find the data.

Due to a capacity "issue" with my libraries, some of my onsite primary pool
tapes are not resident in my library. So to reclaim my
offsite tapes, I've been checking in tapes that have 90% reclamable space and
doing a move data on them. I've noticed a couple times

Thought I had to physically have the tape onsite in
the library to run an audit volume. Doesn't it mount

I have a TSM 5.1.x server where I have a handful of tapes. They are a part
of an offsite storage pool. I do not have the onsite storage pool tapes. If

What should I do to get TSM to ask for the offsite ones? Don't I just set

Since there is data on the tape, you won't be able to check it in as
Scratch, you'll have to do it as Private. Then you can check the tape out
as normal.

Today is the tomorrow of yesterday.
I have a strange phenomenon that occurred with one of my offsite tapes. The
tape was written on the 9th as you can see below. It was supposed to be
checked out on the morning of the 10th but it was not. All data points to it
being what it says it is yet I can't figure out why this happened. mtlib

I had the volume retrieved from the vault and inserted into the
