Hi,
How do I disable sessions and keep sessions disabled even if I restart my

Is there a way to disable client sessions without disabling
server-to-server sessions? We want to disable users from accessing our TSM
servers, but not disable server-to-server sessions.
I know there is now a tcpadminport, in addition to tcpport, but the
documentation for disable sessions seems
Hi Paul,
I have it on good authority that server-to-server sessions are not
disabled with DISABLE SESSIONS. Admin sessions are not disabled, either.
In TSM 5.3, additional granularity was added to the ENABLE SESSIONS and
DISABLE SESSIONS command; check out the 5.3 README for this info

I was wondering if you can put disable sessions in the options file as well
or is it command line only?
Thanks again!

Joni - Coding a hoked TCPPort value in the server options file will

Hello Joni!
I believe you are correct! The DISABLESCHEDS option is documented as
giving the option to prevent client and administrative commands from
running.
If you are still uncertain, you could update your admin schedules to
ACTIVE=NO and update your client schedules to a startdate in the

Hello!
I am upgrading the TSM server this weekend and also auditing the database.
In order to do this TSM must be started/stopped several times. During this
time I don't want clients to be able to access the TSM server and I don't
want administrative jobs to run
Hopefully this is an easy one.
Does the server command "disable sessions" carry across the server halt and
restart,
or does it have to be reentered after the restart?
Thanks,
Frank

Across a server restart after a "disable sessions" command has been issued,
sessions are re-enabled. (availability goes to "enabled" again.)
