Yes this will work and we use it now with our LanFree client.
My suggestion would be to create two libraries rather than splitting the drives
in half.
Each library with 32 drives would work.
Ron is correct in suggesting the use of a library manager configuration. This

Yes, this is how I upgrade in TSM v5.
My confusing is that TSMv6 comes as one big package:
CZG6SML_TSM_AIX_server_v6.2.1.bi
install packages are buried down in the dir structure when this is
exploded.
How did you run "smitty update_all"? Did you cd to the filesets in this
structure?
I really don't want to run the install.bin java gui to do this storage agent
upgrade.

Curious that I'm replying to my own post but using the LANFREECOMMMETHOD of
SharedMem the 120 GB of OS data just backed up in 57 minutes. The 60 GB of DB2
data backed up in 54 minutes.
So looks like the V5.3.3.0 storage agent is more affected by the use of
SharedMem over TCPI

We had a TSM server and TSM Storage Agent combination of V5.1.1.0. The TSM
client on the AIX server is at V5.1.7.0. This AIX server is running DB2. We
have a Windows 2003 TSM server and a 3494 tape library with two Fibre attached
3590 drives.

Jurjen is right: just look at the kernel version to identify the linux
version involved. The standard TSM-Client plays nicely with the ESX host.
To back up the ESX-guests, you can choose according to your needs:

You can use the normal storage agent to backup any files on a ESX guest
OS. And, yes, the storage agent is on the standard IBM ftp sites.
