Timeline was pretty good.  The time travel explanation is like "quantum foam *mumble mumble* and you come out in the past!"  So science content is similar to Star Trek. Chrichton did go into solid detail about the language, clothing, HEMA, and other aspects of the time period.  I really enjoye
