Check Ebay. We use a lot of the Quanta servers.

We never buy new servers. Send the specs over to the guys at

I attached the recommend hardware sheet. Powercode tells me the OS that the
box is running is Ubuntu and that you can bring/build your own hardware and
really the only thing that matters is number of cores on the CPU to get the
throughput levels.

SaiSei used to require some very specific Intel CPU’s. Don’t know if that’s
still the case but make sure before you buy anything that it’s the CPU has the
proper features.

On eBay you can customize servers (I've done Dell a bunch) to how ever much
disk and CPU you want. The only gotcha I've seen is if you buy disks from
a second listing, make sure it's 2.5 vs 3.5 (Dell SSF is 2.5).
What specs were recommended for 1-2 gig?

Usually about half the cost of a new one.

Does anyone have an recommend hardware for a Saisei traffic shaping box?
Powercode gave me some recommended Dell servers but looking for something a
little more cost effecting, looking to filter between 1G-2G. Didn't know if
there was a nice cheap box out there preferable something that's not too
