I'm irritable today
I'm tired of everything being taken to extremes
the customer IS always right, no argument there, except the caveat of we
reserve the right to refuse service.
The needs of your customer base should be pretty high in the decision tree,
but fuck balls, when the customer is a prick

Interesting point. I know of a place where the customer bought a 100'
tower for $12k to get internet. He also had someone bury conduit from
the tower to the house. I don't know what he paid for that part, but it
wasn't free. I haven't run into anyone willing to pay 6 figures though.

I remember that thread. I didn't put this story and that together. This one
sounded much saner but his comments before were outrageous.

In the BC gulf islands and US San Juan islands (NW corner of WA state)
there's numerous private islands and estates that when they go on the
market sell for $8 million or more... You probably would (or wouldn't?) be
surprised to see the efforts some wealthy technology executives have put

I know of two guys that spent well above 6 figures to get internet
delivered to their rural estates.

Sounds like a good business opportunity for some construction worker types
who can learn how to do turnkey Rohn 25G installations for customer
sites... Maybe financing of a tower build? If you take $8000 and divide
it by 96 months with a reasonable interest rate it's not so terrible.

We've been doing some pretty creative and some pretty expensive installations
with Clear's service shutting down. We have had a few people willing to spend
5k to get installations done. One has built a tower. Another one is $900 to
create a very unique PTP from a new microsite. It's amazing
Yes, Steve's comments were excellent.
To summarize the whole thing, a couple of us can almost get to him, but not
quite - and nobody wants to. It turned out he actually had called us
earlier this year.
