Stranded cable just doesn't punch down on standard 110-type teeth
There are 110 patch cables. If you need to field terminate your own, use
something like this:

and splice to another pair. You can keep them twisted right up until
they go into the connector

I think I agree.
We've used the Bulgin jobs for a long time, and they work very well.
However, with the Bulgin you have to terminate the ends after you've
threaded the glands/nuts on.
This one looks like you can terminate the ends before assembly.

The rubber gromits on mine definitely look a lot better. That looks fine
if it was 1 of them vertical, but I'd be afraid of dust/dirt getting into

I was the one that you were talking to at AF. I've been using these for
years. I still try to protect them from water by wrapping in mastic,
electrical tape, and putting them in a box.

Out at AF I was talking to some who said that they were using a Cat5
splice product. They described it as being similar to a butt connector
Image result for cat5 splice keep twist
but was specifically made to accept the Cat5 twist, so that the twist
went all the way into the unit to splice
We use them. Gel filled so they are water resistant.

Look up 3M ScotchLok. Our guys use them all the time. I once used them to
splice together a 300ft. CAT5 cable running up the tower that was cut at the
base by a tower climber. Worked great for temporary use
