Hi,
I don't use eyed3 anymore, nor do I python anymore. The new eyed3
buildsystem is also fishy and I wasn't able to release a package based
on recent versions. Therefore it would be best if I orphan this
package and give it to someone more familiar with python.

Its more that the embedded version is broken and not the package. Not all
ubuntu versions have a recent php-htmlpurifier.
