PINES uses the same record if everything else about the item is the same
aside from the binding.

Hello, I'm looking for troubleshooting advice. We upgraded to 3.11 on
Saturday, and for the first two days we were open (10/10 and 10/11) new
orders worked fine. EDI messages generated and sent to B, B generated
 responses.

On Thursday afternoon my coworker that handles acquisitions and
cataloging let me know that a new order wasn't activating.

When the activate button is pressed, the progress monitor shows up and
 then just never progresses.

I'm seeing this error in the browser console
 open-ils.acq.purchase_order.assets.create
 main.b8a502bab34034e4.js:3 open-ils.acq.purchase_order.assets.create
 failed! stat=500 msg= *** Call to

 /usr/local/share/perl/5.36.0/OpenILS/Application/Acq/Order.pm line 1350.

That is in the create_copy function

 "$copy->call_number($volume->id);"

The import queue has all the titles sitting there saying that they are
 not imported.

I'm going to compare the logs of a successful activation from the 11th
with the first activation attempt yesterday and see if i can spot the
difference. But if anyone has run into this and is familiar with it and
can recommend somewhere to look, I would appreciate it.

This happened to one PO with 7 line items, and then we tried a simple
one with just one line item and the same issue happened.
 Thanks

Re: [Evergreen-general] Activating POs stopped working a few days after 3.11 upgrade

2023-10-13 Thread Tiffany Little via Evergreen-general
Hi Josh,

My *guess* is that since your line items didn't link up to records, the
call number is unblessed because in the create_volume routine above it
couldn't create the call number because there's no eg_bib_id.

Here's some spaghetti to throw at the wall to see if any of this has merit:

1. If all of the line items are not importing/linking to bib records, is
there a Record Match Set and Merge Profile assigned in the Load MARC Order
Record form?
2. Is "Import Non-Matching Records" checked on your Load MARC Order Records
form?

I was able to recreate that console error if:

   - My line items weren't already linked to a bib record
   - Import Non-Matching Records was unchecked

Hope that gives you something to test, at least!

[Evergreen-general] Modifying OPAC with bib source

2023-08-07 Thread Tiffany Little via Evergreen-general
Good morning,

I happened to come across this use case in the official docs the other day
about using bib source to modify your Place Hold button for e-resources:

https://docs.evergreen-ils.org/eg/docs/latest/admin_initial_setup/designing_your_catalog.html#_using_bibliographic_source_variables

Does anyone do this? I'd be interested to see it in action.

Thanks!

[Evergreen-general] May Acq Interest Group meeting

2023-05-08 Thread Tiffany Little via Evergreen-general
Good afternoon,

The next meeting of the Acquisitions Interest Group will be this Wednesday,
May 10th at 3pm Eastern. Since I had to cancel the March meeting and I was
the presenter, I've rescheduled my intended demo/discussion of the work
done so far on the Angularized patron requests interface.

The beginnings of the agenda is posted here:
https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=acq:minutes:2023-05-10

Hope to see you then!

[Evergreen-general] Acq Interest Group at the Evergreen Conference

2023-04-26 Thread Tiffany Little via Evergreen-general
Hi all,

Following the lead of some of the other interest groups, we'll be starting
at 8:15am tomorrow to give everyone a chance to grab something at
breakfast. Feel free to bring it with you to the meeting! We'll be in the
Wachusett B room.

The interest groups are not being streamed, but I'll plan to take some
notes and put them on the wiki after the meeting.

Hope to see many of you there!

Re: [Evergreen-general] EDI - Vendor changed the ISBN/Identifier - how to deal with

2023-02-08 Thread Tiffany Little via Evergreen-general
Hi Josh,

As far as not being able to reimport the same invoice, I usually get around
that by (1) making sure the invoice is open, (2) detaching all the line
items, (3) changing the vendor invoice ID to something else, even if that's
[PREVIOUS INVOICE #]-ERROR. Then you can save and close that invoice so
that it's out of the way. Then the next time the fetcher runs, it won't
consider that a dupe and it should import the new invoice again.

Good afternoon,

Reminder of today's Acq Interest Group meeting. I've updated the meeting
link on the agenda:

https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=acq:minutes:2022-09-14

We're sticking with Google Meet this month as we get the community Zoom
sorted out, since me trying to figure out the Zoom on a live meeting would
only lead to tears. (Probably mine.)

Hope to see you then!

Re: [Evergreen-general] E-resources acq

2022-05-11 Thread Tiffany Little via Evergreen-general
Hi Blake,

If you're not as concerned about tracking specific titles, you could use
blanket purchase orders to record the funds used. So say encumber $10k for
Overdrive billed to XYZ fund, and then any invoices that come in are put
against that encumbrance.

Our libraries who record e-resource purchases in Acq don't load bibs or
generally even use the blanket purchase orders. They get the invoice from
Overdrive/EBSCO/etc and create an invoice and use direct charges. We have a
direct charge type of "E-Materials", they choose the fund(s) they want to
bill it out to, and split up the invoice amount amongst those funds, save
and close. They don't input titles or anything like that. So there's
nothing linked to the catalog, but they are accounting for the purchases in
their fund balances.
