For some reason which I do not understand, commercial DVDs do not start playing
automatically when I insert them into the DVD drive on my PC. In fact, I can’t

Just so maybe others that it loads slow for can see if they have any of that

The program files (x86) folder is not a subfolder of the program fiels
folder. It is another folder located in your root directory (c:\). It should
be right under "program files". If you have a 32 bit version of Windows 7, I
don't think you will have an (x86) folder at all. You should also be

The program is in your vlc directory, and it is called vlc.exe. .exe stands
for "executable", which is the most common desktop program extension.
I just realised that it's also possible that "open file location" took you
to a shortcut pointing to the vlc.exe file in the "program data"
I have no idea. But that's an interesting project/investigation. I'd be
curious to know if you find something satisfactory.
