I would also be interested in this, especially if there is anything really
accessible with out having to go through the app thing, as if possible, I do
like to take a break from the iPhone some times.

personally, I would use a decent USB sound box for this, something like the
aphex IN2, or the latest version of the Steinberg UR22.
this will also give you actual hardware level controls, rather useful if you
will be transferring a number of different tapes.

not sure what to suggest if you want to make them on the go, but if you are

there are quite a number of sound check cds on the market, for testing hi-fi

I wouldn't swear to it, but as HDMI is mainly a video type connection, I
personally doubt that you will find an audio only box or card featuring it.
certainly for good playing and recording quality, I would go for either the

Hi all.
I love my BSM 9 Binaural microphones
I can think of 2.
the first is the one I use, the Aphex in2, but that does need power, so if
you intend using it where no power is available, the other one is the
steinberg ur22.
hope this helps.

hello all,
does anyone know of a really decent 3 input or more optical/toslink switch?
the only ones I can find seem to be those from Lindy or Cyp, which both seem to
be the same, just with a different name on them. and whilst the specs on them
look decent, the actual build quality is very ligh
phono input on the same
channel.
Therefore, what you want to do probably wouldn't work.

I have a nice mixer, that has 4 channels which have both line and phono inputs,
but on which I use mainly line level sources. so if I could get something t

I would agree with the below.
as whilst yes there are tape machines with USB connections, from those I
have seen, the actual decks do tend to be of rather poor quality.
