I converted "Writing an ALSA Client" to DocBook/XML as a
proof-of-concept. This was one Wiki page so it doesn't show all of the
possibilities of DocBook. But imagine a larger document with a full Table
of Contents and also an Index. Imagine being able to print hundreds of
pages from a sin

Nothing in particular, but it's just that a computer is not the right
tool to generate a stable high frequency signal.

What is wrong with using a PC ?
Use all 8 bits of the parallel port in DMA mode.
The make an external circuit which will buffer and then serial clock the 8
bits out.
If this is not quick enough, use more parallel ports.
It is probably a good idea to use a real time OS, and not linux.

By the way, an old AMD-450 could reach

Hi!
I've resigned to use linux box as a D-class amplifier.
I've diecided to make standalone device.
Why? The biggest problem is that serial/parallel port's max. output
frequency is 370kHz... It could be usefull, but I don't want to make my life
harder - as I often like to do ;)
I'm planning to u

How would I go to stop sound from the sequencer at once. If I try a queue control
event,
regardless of whether I send it to the queue or I use direct mode, playback will
continue
until everything in the output buffer has been played

Alright, I'm back. I finally got around to trying your patch to the
2.4.10 LL kernel (the 3rd buffer.c patch you posted: 1. PE, 2. broken
LL, and 3. LL in that order :). I replaced the results for test 3 on
http://www.c0nfusion.org/~josh/ with the new figures. Looking better,

I finally got around to doing a full duplex test with my SB Live card.
At first I was experiencing the same problems I was having a while back
(although to a lesser degree) with clicks increasing/decreasing in
intensity over time. I was searching the ALSA archives (with google as
geocrawler is use
