First, this stuff is still very experimental, it should work very well
with a
Game Theater XP course that's card I've got and the only cs46xx sound
card I can
test with.
I've got some reports that stuffs dont seems to work very well with
the Santa Cruz card, course for some unknown reason t
This is a follow-up to my postings of a few weeks ago. I recently
submitted the following as bug #629284:
After just a few minutes of using a program (Linux Pipe Organ,
http://orgue.com/linux_organ/index-e.shtml) which reads from the
external MIDI port, the ALSA mpu401 driver barfs:

My box has obviously released some memory overnight

Hi,
it looks like Jack can enable hardware monitoring on each HDSP channel
separately. How do I do this myself with amixer? I have not been able to
find a useable control.

Good news everyone!
I installed the new alsa-driver-0.9rc5 driver for my cs46xx and the
hardware mixing is just great! *wh* But the important thing is
that I have to report a bug. Since I play a lot around with VoIP I found
out that the opening of the record device (OSS-Emulation) somet
Hi all,
With snd_pcm_mmap_begin I get the offset in the ringbuffer for the period
that has just been played.
So anything I put there will only be played after bufferlength frames (a
little less probably)
Is it possible to write ahead in the ringbuffer?
For instance two periods ahead?
I have tri

eventually, and the only way to clear it is waiting
for Linux to free a large amount of cache memory.
Or I could reboot my machine.
In the meantime, I have no PCM playback via my
SB-Live!. Is this a 2.4 or a SB-Live limitation?

Hello,
I am using a Turtle Beach cs46xx based card and have it configured
for ALSA and the new firmware image under Linux 2.5.44 to allow playing
multiple streams at once. When running under 2.5.44 trying to scan to
different parts of an mp3 file seems to take a lot longer than it should

Maybe Abramo meant "funded volunteers" ? Maybe not, but
then with one short response like that it's a bit hard

Hi
I'm trying to capture two streams from my SBLive card: one with just the microphone
input, and one with everything
(in my case, microphone and pcm output). Is this at all possible? I see there are
three capture devices...
