Sorry I didn't follow-up on this sooner; I must have been
distrcted by some shiny object. I haven't had any problems
with MIDI and Jack. I've tested routing MIDI in the following
ways:
HDSP port 0 loopback
HDSP port 1 -> port 0
HDSP port 0 -> aseqview -> HDSP port 0
HDSP
Jaroslav,
You've probably been distracted with more pressing matters, but are you
still looking at this issue? I'd be happy to look into it or fix it
myself if you could give me some ideas of where/what/how to fix it.

I'm having trouble with the Intel 82801CA-ICH3 Driver in ALSA 0.9.6. All I
here is static. I have removed the config files after uninstalling 0.9.4 and
then installing alsa-drivres, alsa-utils, and alsa-lib (0.9.6 version). And
all I get is noise?
This is hapining on a Toshiba Satellit
