Hi all
I had a chance to test Alsa 1.0.0pre3 over the weekend against a suite of
programs I use. I noticed a small but very annoying quirk with the OSS
midi emulation. The applications were jazz++ 4.1.3 and playmidi 2.4. While
the symptoms were slightly different I suspect there might be one un

I've been complaining for several months about Oops's, lockups, etc.,
on my Sony Viao Z5050S laptop. Sometimes I would simply freeze,
sometimes I got an oops (several of which have been posted), and last
week, I actually got some sound, albeit very corrupted.

hello,
some posts were made by myself a couple of months back regarding system
lockups experienced with the hdsp driver - my system would lock during
capture or playback.
this lock has been traced to kernel power management, either acpi or
apm. when either of these are enabled, i experience lo

Hello!
On the ASUS A7V8X motherboard, the built-in sound works fine with the
full DXS support in snd-via82xx. Tested with ALSA 0.9.8 and
1.0.0pre3.
Here is the patch to add this motherboard to the whitelist.
BTW, the "ASUS A7V8-X" in the nearby comment probably should be

Hello,
I have some problems with a ac97 based sound card (Notebook built-in)
where the kernel driver works fine (except of not beeing able to
resample on-the-fly).
When I set the PCM mixer volume to more then 50%, I hear few sound
fragments. If I go over 75% I hear them all the time and on 100% P
Hi. The envy24control has undergone some significant
changes, most of which are good. But I no longer
understand how to set levels. It used to be that
111 on the on ADC level was -10Db and the top was
+4db I think. Now there is a separate input gain.
I am completely unable to set the levels to rea
