No objection from me on the proposed changes. BTW, I am using an
HDSP9652 with a version of ALSA I got from CVS last August or so, and
haven't had any problems for wh

I am running Jack 0.80.0, compiled locally, kernel 2.4.21,
unpatched, compiled locally, and ALSA as described below. I
wonder if the problem you found has something to do with
low-latency or preemptibility patches.

Of course, I'm not sure how well this meshes with the overall
ALSA system model and "consumer" style sound cards. It's just that

I am trying to use the latest alsa drivers

The kernel rejects the modules built using
configure + make as having the wrong format.
I guess it might be a .o vs .ko

Hi all,
I'm trying to build a full-duplex app using alsa, but I'm having some
problems with getting buffsersizes and timing right. I can't get a simple
record-and-playback app working right without underruns occuring.
I hope some experienced alsa programmers can take a q

Hi!
I've got that audigy2.
after Alsa installation, launching mixer etc. I've get no sound from the
card (first output). when switching Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack
card produces sound artifacts from the sound (plauing wav file with
aplay). just in the moment of the switching.

The 'maestro' driver included with Linux 2.4.x loads, and for the most
part works okay. However trying to use the latest ALSA results in:

Ok, I give up. Do I just need to build the sound module alone, or do I
need to rebuild all of the toolchain? (I'm currently using the debian
packages for alsa-utils 0.9rc1). There doesn't appear to be a build
script for all the tools - in the cvs snapshot there's a Makefile and
I'm trying to compile alsa 0.9rc3 on a Powerbook G4 DVI against
