Hi,
I've experienced clicking at the _beginning_ of audio samples using
various versions of Alsa and the Linux 2.4.x kernel with the onboard VIA
686A chip.
Absolutely no trouble with my SoundBlaster 16 PCI, however. I actually
have both sound cards and drivers installed for both because I got t
I have installed alsa 0.9.0beta10(a) driver-lib-utils
on SBLive Platinum. No apparent errors during installation, which went fairly
smoothly. But alsamixer does not appear to function properly. Also I cannot get sound
with the avview TV application, which is what I am trying to do.

First, here's my system:

Athlon 1700+ (not overclocked)

This is a recently upgraded SuSE Linux box system. As there's apparently

any legitimate reason for anyone to send BIG5/JIS/EUC-TW/etc to the list.

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-F430 Laptop, and it comes with a Yamaha DS-1S

My system is a Slakware 8.0 recently installed, running with a 2.4.5 kernel

Hi,

My final goal is to get dolby digital out of my box, and the first step is
to get the digital output working.
I finally made it work, but my problem is that the sound is very very loud
und very strong disturbed.

I am also having the same problem with my Via 8233 onboard audio chip. I am
running the same version of ALSA, in addition, I am running RedHat Linux
7.2.
Since both of us have it, it sounds like it isn't a board based problem.
Also is it normal to not be able to play two sounds at one time?

Hello, first of all, a happy new year to all the members
of the list !
This is my first message in the list. I browsed the
archives before asking my question, but could not find
anything relevant. Maybe I didn't search well enough. ;-)
By the way the archives don't seem to work well on
