I'm also seeing this on Red Hat, 2.4.9-31.
Perhaps the low-latency patch might will solve the
problem? The symptoms sound similar to those for
latency problems.
Have a look at this for more details.

The complete datasheets, not the abbreviated useless ones on their

I am also having this problem with both my ensoniq es1371 and my

to be way worse in mplayer and also when playing tribes2 where it

Ah, but I *could* pester philips, and if a convincing enough argument was
made and couched in business terms, that data could be obtained.
So, if I were to do so, what information would be needed?

Hello!
I have a one-year-old, $100 sound card that (is now worth $50) that I
would like to get working. I have checked the ALSA sound card matrix,
and the chip is listed in gray, and I believe my earlier queries probably
prompted the listing.
As I suspect, a driver hasn't been written to work w
Thanks for the tip with alsamixer (as you said it's much better to see what
you are doing) but doesn't change my problem. I just unmuted every channel
without any result. Perhaps should I try with gamix as Bill Allen on the
mailing list suggested me, but I'm not sure that change anything to my

Thanks for the reply. I found the problem after reading the code (imagine
that!). The error I was getting was coming from a function called
init_module. On inspecting the code, I found that this routine is only
invoked from isapnp. Since my sound card isn't isapnp, I'm a little
confused why it
Make sure you unmute and boost volume for master and pcm. They both have
to be up for the yamaha chip to work. I find that gamix is a very nice and
easy mixer to use, but alsamixer will do fine, just a little bit harder.

I need the driver for ES1930S chip.
Could you give me it?
Thanks.
