Hi,
I'm trying to record sound from my SAT receiver with the SPDIF-In of my
CMI8738-MC6. Everything works fine if I use 48 kHz, but when I try using
44.1 kHz, arecord seems to record with 44.1 kHz, but the frequency of
the recorded sound is too low when played back with aplay.
Is this the intend

Are you using devfs? If so, you'll probably need to set up your
/etc/devfsd.conf file (I think it's in the installation docs).

I'm trying to track down whether or not my (working) alsa setup will
support 4 channel audio, but I'm having no end of trouble. If anyone
knows anything about the SB PCI128's 4-point support, please enlighten
me :)
Anyways: The one thing I would really like to see is a simple channel

i have two problems:
1.) i install soundmaker live! but after reboot i
must do
./snddevices
2.) kmixer volume is null after reboot

I Re-Installed ALSA 0.9 on my debian system which is
running a kernel 2.4.19.
the Installation went fine.
but when I tried to unmute the sound using amixer
I get this error:

I'm currently trying to get a HDSP + Multiface system working, but not
getting any sound out, so I've got a couple of questions:
Firstly, I've managed to compile and make the drivers. The relevant
modules are happily loaded:

snd-hd
Check if the chipset of the soundcard is correct.
