Nope , no luck here too.
You say the rc6 tarballs worked perfectly? Then maybe
I should try checking out CVS. Maybe a prior fix has
been implemented now. Will let you know if it works.

By only one channel gets recognized, do you mean only outs 1+2 (and not
3+4)? This may be due to the fact that you are using the default
device. Try telling whatever app you are using to use the "quattro" or
"q4b" device, provided you have your .asoundrc setup like it says in the
soundcard ma
i'm not a great guru of sound and alsa, but i think you have to remove the
currently loaded modules. For example, my machine has via8233 onboard
sound therefore the (old) alsa module that i need to remove is snd-via82xx. i
remove it with
/sbin/modprobe -r snd-via82xx
and then use
/sbin/modp

I am using ALSA 0.9.0rc8a on ThinkPad X22 (intel8x0 sound chip)
I have a wav file which plays OK with OSS but not with alsa.

Playing WAVE 'guitar.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 11025 Hz, Mono

Hi,
I finally got around to compiling the alsa drivers
today , and grabbed the 0.9.1 release. The build
process for the drivers , lib and utils went
flawlessly , but the kernel is unable to load the
module.
Heres the output
<<< [EMAIL PROTECTED] utils]# /sbin/modprobe snd

aha, so is there a way to change things so that I don't have several other bits of
hardware using the same irq as usb? BIOS only lets me change the
Hi,
I've already installed alsa-driver 0.5.12 (including alsa-libs) on my
Redhat 7.2 and VIA8233 onboard soundcard . Now I want to install the
0.9.1 driver, but I don't know how to uninstall the previous one. Do I
need to do it first or I can directly install the new driver without
uninstall

The UA-1A has 5 interfaces: one for output, one for no output, one for
input, one for no input, and one for describing the other four. This is
required by the USB Audio Specification. (I c

It will work when somebody writes a utility to download the firmware.
(Apparently, it uses DFU, so it might be possible to recycle the (not yet
written) Sonica loader.)
