Hi,
I'm pretty sure that second output is implemented as a secondary DSP
device. So you would have to output to e.g. /dev/adsp to access it
through the OSS interface.

Hi,
my ENS1370 (Soundblaster PCI128) has got two audio outputs. One of them is
constantly dead. Is there a module option to ens1370.o to activate it?

So i'm slowly figuring out that ALSA is way more than just an audio driver
API. It can do routing, format conversion and MIDI. Funny thing is that I
thought I read the ALSA docs fairly well and found not so much information
on these subjects. Am I looking in the wrong place? www.alsa-project.org

I have good success with Mandrake for hardware autodetection.

Hi,
I noticed lately that some (sensible) restrictions
on the articulation of ipga levels vs. D/A levels
had been built into the alsa mixer for the ice1712
cards. I am now using the Alsa driver built into
the 2.5.73 kernel, and I find that under no
circumstances am I able to raise any of the ipga
After successfully compiling alsa (as per the directions) on an
RH9/kernel 2.4.20-19.9/TurtleBeach SantaCruz system I attempt to the
load alsa:
modprobe snd-cs46xx;modprobe snd-pcm-oss;modprobe
snd-mixer-oss;modprobe

Hi Bernez -
Some more information would be helpful.
Which soundcard? Was one identified/configured during the
installation?

Hi, I can't get any sound with Mandrake-9.1.
I am unable to find any help on Mandrake's web site.
Is there any tip ?

There does not seem to be an '-march' flag passed to gcc during
compilation. Is ALSA always built for the lowest architecture that is
compatible with the machine?

Hi all,
I have an ibook 2 dual usb (june 2001)with Debian testing
I installed a 2.4.21 benH kernel on it and got the Alsa sources 0.9.4-1 and
compiled them fine but when I try to load the modules I can see i2c loading and
then my ibook hangs up suddenly!
Anybody has an idea about what I can do

Hi Thomas,
Somewhat unrelated, but you may be the best person able to answer:
Do you see that a driver for the new hdsp9632 is likely to be along in the
near term? Are RME helping out in any way, for example chipset
documentation, and or sample cards for interested developers? (Anyone
