help, i resently install slackware 9.1 on my toshiba satellite 1715XCDS
laptop. every thing works great except i cannot get any sound coming
out of the speakers or headphones. I know alsa is installed because i
saw it on the install screen on slake.
I see these messages when i boot up slack:
Hello,
I have a problem with my ALSA sound. When I play sound in X windows it is
terribly distorted at times. But when I play using the console, the playback
is just fine. The kernel is 2.6.0-test9-mm2 on a VT8235 based motherboard
(Epox EP-8K9A) with a Realtek ALC650 onboard soundcard.
Hi!
is it necessary to recompiled sound-related stuff like esound, or xmms
when upgrading to ALSA 1.0.0pre? Or does 1.0.0 breaks 0.9.0 library/headers
compat?
Regards,

Hi All! I'm wrtiting to ask something about audio quality. The output
of my soundcard goes directly to the hi-fi but I feel the quality of the
sound really low.. With the same hi-fi I listen to music with a cd
player and the quality is quite good, is it possible to reach a similar
result?

all), but also have output at 44100 Hz, instead of 48kHz ;-)
I've updated the Wikipage http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=ice1724

I downloaded and installed the new alsa-driver-1.0.0pre2, with the
corresponding lib and utils.
The installation goes smoothly, without any error. But there is
no sound output.
I got the same stupid errors as before [0.9.8] when I
try to play something, such as:

I will be glad to read it then. I would also like, if my aruments
