I've installed alsa successfully a couple of times, but this latest
time, I have a problem that I can't track down. Any help would be most
appreciated.
This is a Debian testing system. The kernel is (hand-compiled) 2.4.23
with the ck1 patches for increased responsiveness. The sound card is a

Here is more information on my problem. It seems that alsa only sees two
primary channels for this device. Yet, when the card's information is
accessed, it shows eight channels of input (it works with my external
adat hardware). Notice below in the list of pcm channels, there is only
pcm0c

I'm compiling alsa-driver-1.0.0rc2, for emu10k1. When I
insert snd-emu10k1, I get unresolved symbols in
snd-page-alloc.
snd_page_alloc: Unknown symbol pte_offset
snd_page_alloc: Unknown symbol VMALLOC_VMADDR
And when I compiled, I got these warnings:

Hi!
One possibility might be to create a plugin for it. I don't exactly know
about the channels of a 5.1-system. But if they are there as pcm-devices, then
you could try mapping the channels 0 and 1 to the other channels. It could
look like:
pcm.mystereo
{
type plug
ttable.0.0 2
I got my 5.1 soundsystem working. If the sound is 5.1 all sound channels
work.
Now I want stereo not only to be on the front channel.
In alsamixer I turned the option Duplicate Front on, now I have the
stereo sound on fropnt and rear channels but not on Center / LFE channels.
How to turn sound on
Hello, Sir/Madam,
I meet a problem with a new Hammerfall PCMCIA audio card.
Every thing works well, when I use REM Hammerfall DSP
(rev0a)+Multiface+JACK. The REM Hammerfall DSP (rev0a) was bought one
year ago.
Recently I got a new REM Hammerfall DSP (rev0b), which gives improper

Is there a way to configure
the new Audigy 2 NX from Creative Labs
to work with Alsa?
I’m using SuSE 9.0 distribution.

You also can use alsamixer. The newer versions (well, not *that* new
anymore) also provide the necessary hooks for the ICE car
When I used Alsa 0.9.0rc2 everything worked. But last week I recompiled
Alsa 0.9.7 and now I have the same problem.
However I did not have a time to play with the problem.
Maybe the problem is that snd_oss_seq (or stg. like that - OSS emulation
support for sequencer) module is not loaded.

Hi all,
I am rather new to alsa and jack. I have the Digi96/8 setup and working
with Planet CCRMA Alsa/jack (latest) but only with two of the ADAT optical
IO channels. I would like to use all 8 channels (preferably both input
and output, but mostly just input) but cannot seem to make jack use
